Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Albert Einstein

Woke this morning just after 6, with a hack, hack, hackiing cough. Heard the echo from MWNN. Made tea and let Ron out. Went back to bed.

Ron promptly threw up on the douvet. Suspicious penn pasta-shaped object in vomit.

Cleared up. Stripped bed. Let Ron out again (more vomitting).

Waiting for vet's to open.
ETA Back from the vet's where Ron behaved impecably as his stomach was groped, glands emptied, rectal exam, temperature was taken (102). The verdict is an infection causing inflamation of stomach. We're on 'poo-watch' until tomorrow to make sure there is no bowel blockage. He's feeing a lot brighter after an antibiotics' injection (given with a cat needle) and anti-inflamatory jab (by rabbit needle).

I woke up to poo, but at least it was in the litter tray. I also have the cough, unfortuantely.

What is it about Christmas? Domestic appliances break down with monotonous regularity in the countdown, and pets throw a sickie.

At least there's a bit of a thaw and the car won't need digging out for the run to the vets'.

Thanks. I'm just back from the vet's. Ron has a stomach infection (temp 102) but is already a lot brighter after the antibiotic jab.

101 to 102 F is proper temp for a dog! Their body temp runs higher than ours.

Hope he just was yakking up something he shouldn't eat, and he'll be fine now.

Our vet seems to think that 99 is 'normal' for a terrier and he was shivering a lot (while resting next to me on the sofa waiting for the vet's phone line to open) before he had the antibiotics.

He polished off a dinner of chicken and rice and no sign of vomiting. I'm blaming a combination of his eating the bird food put out in the garden and swallowing chunks of hide bone.

Oh dear, poor Ron. Well poor you, too, unexpected duvet cleaning is not what you need right now!

Bedding is in the wash,(douvet was protected by the cover) Ron is from the vet's. He has a stomach infection (temp 102) but is already a lot brighter after the antibiotic jab.
