I should have stuck with playing around with the images I need for my presentation of how I managed to get the
book wot I wrote published. If you want a flavour of the dry historian's view of swinging sixties England, read the current extract.

The whole playing-with-images in Photoplus4 was so much easier than trying to find relevant sources for the next project.

Oh no, for a dry historians view of the swinging sixties you have to try Professor Arthur Marwick! He did the sixties block on A103. *shudder*
23rd-Jan-2003 01:04 am (UTC) - re- dry historians
Marwick was the historian used when I did A100 (back in the 'good ol' days - I'm a C-numbered student)Didn't find him dry then. But I can understand how he might be now. It comes with age I think.

Buffy tonight - Beneath You - very Spike-centric, very angsty.

Much Giles? If any?

Do you really want to be spoiled?

No, probably not.

I watched "The Dark Age" from season 2 last night. Very nice for Giles content ;)

I'll leave you in blissful ignorance then. Will say one thing-Anya ROCKS!!!!
23rd-Jan-2003 02:48 am (UTC) - Re: Giles
I've actually now got hold of the future season 7 episodes, but I'm not watching them yet. I want to catch up on all of the old stuff first - just got a few more of season 2 and then most of season 4 to go.

I've only seen the Spike-centric ep. from season 2 -Lover's Walk. I taped most of season 4 when it was repeated on BBC2 recently. I think season 4 is GREAT but not for Giles, he has a rough time in 4 trying to find a 'role' in life. Loved the demony episode - the exchanges between him and Spike are priceless.

OT - the PhD submission going? Where are you going to do it?
23rd-Jan-2003 05:59 am (UTC) - Re: Giles
My brother in law has them all on DVD so I've been borrowing them from him.

Season 4 I never got into but I don't know if thats just because I missed the first few episodes when I was at summer school last year and so didn't really have all the background to it.

For Giles I'd have to say my favourite seasons are probably the early ones when they were still at school. Oh and of course season 6 even though he wasn't in it that much. I think in that one he faced some real challenges personally and had to make some tough decisions.

PhD - I've just got to finish the proposal and collate the survey results I've done. Got till mid-Feb to get it in. I'm applying to do it here at the OU.
