Birthday cake with Fireworks fountain candles from my first birthday tea.

Yesterday's Champagne Tea Party (There are photos to come from The Daughter's camera) was fab-u-lous. We had Prosecco (with side serving of the most flavourful strawberries) instead of champagne and then were stuffed with proper 'finger' sandwiches, lovely scones with cream and jam, and a selection of cakes, washed down with pots and pots of tea and coffee.

The Daughter and Son-in-Law bought me a camera with accoutrements that will probably vacuum the floors and make the tea as well if the handbook is anything indication of its powers.

Belated happy birthday!

The champagne tea sounds wonderful. We had tea at the Ritz this summer to celebrate my dad's birthday; I had no idea that we could have had something equally as nice so close as Hitchin.

Thank you.

I debated with myself about having tea in London but decided closer to home was what I really wanted. Try googling for traditional afternoon tea in your area, I suspect you'll find something similar to the Priory.

It was wonderful. The setting was very posh and we had the room to ourselves. The staff were setting up a 50th birthday party in the larger room next door for later that evening.

See that Victoria Sponge under the fireworks? I'm eating the last slice of that right now.

The venue for High Tea was very posh - just waiting for The Daughter's photos to be posted.

There's postal strikes throughout the country so I'll keep a sharp eye out for the package, thank you.
