Monday 21st July Gergy to Chalons sur Saone

Was woken at 5.30 this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep ( a little worried by being under the trees). Made brekkie at 7 but MWNN went back to sleep before a sip of coffee or bite of toast, and woke 2 hours later to cold fare.

Cruised the 12km to Chalons to moor in the safety of the port as there are more storms forecast. Met Hazel (Irish) and Peter (Swiss) who moor at Pont de Vaux. They are opticians who have been married over 40 years and practice in his family’s practice ( 3 gernrations) Drinks aboard their boat last night until 9pm, so a very late supper (again too hot for much, the promised storm never materialised)
