Thursday 17th July Pontailler to Auxonne

Into Auxonne on the first overcast day of the cruise. Still no sign of storm or rain. The library at Auxonne has internet access from 4.30 to 6.30, ‘gratuit’, so I availed of their one machine and caught up with some LJ friends’ news. Was shocked to hear of meallanmouse’s redundancy and saddened yet further by qkelllie’s ongoing problems. Both are strong women and will come through but I am constantly reminded of how lucky I am in both my family and my early retirement. Wonder if sainted daughter realises how luck she is to have supportive parents?
