The Wedding April 24 2009
25th-Apr-2009 08:05 pm
Thank you so much, everyone, for the good wishes for The Daughter's Wedding Day. I'll try to answer comments asap.

In the meantime, click through the picture for the Wedding Photo Album.

I have to admit to being extremely proud of The Daughter who organised the wedding herself. It went off without a hitch. There was much champagne consumed, the meal was at a Gastro Pub in Parsons Green, and the happy couple are now somewhere over the Atlantic, heading for a 2 week honeymoon in California.
Quote for the Day
Of moral purpose I see no trace in Nature. That is an article of exclusively human manufacture and very much to our credit.

Thanks. She was radiant all day.

What a great-looking couple! That dress is amazing.

Where in California are they going? I'll give them a virtual wave.
26th-Apr-2009 12:28 pm (UTC)
Thanks. The dress was a separate bodice and skirt designed just for her.

They've flown to San Francisco where they're hiring a car and heading inland. They'll be touring for about 15 days.

Oh my gosh, those pictures are gorgeous! As is your daughter! Looks like it was a wonderful day for everyone - congratulations again.

(Also loved the little girl and the bubbles - made me smile.)

Thanks. She was radiant all day.

The bubbles were MWNN's idea and were a great hit with the children, especially Lyra. We took a box of 24 mini 'Wedding bubbles' as well as confetti.

Wonderful pictures of a wonderful day!

Thanks. Kate was radiant all day, and once he'd delivered her safely to Norm's side in the Registry Office, MWNN allowed himself to relax and enjoy the day.

Fabulous wedding gown and they both look very, very happy.
26th-Apr-2009 12:31 pm (UTC)
Thanks. They were both effulgent all day.

Pat, this looked like a truly lovely affair. I simply adore your daughter's dress! Is it in two pieces? And the flowers matched it perfectly, and then the pics by the wisteria make everything perfect!

The dress was a separate bodice and skirt designed just for her. Five layers of embroidered silk material were shipped in from the States for the bodice, which had 24 bones in it.

The flowers, location, and weather were perfect. It was a lovely day without a single hitch.

What stunning pix. She looks wonderful. I adore that dress! What a great day. I am so pleased it went off well. But where is hat?
26th-Apr-2009 12:38 pm (UTC)
Thank you. The day was magical. But the hat .... I checked what other women were wearing, especially the groom's mother, and there wasn't a hat to be seen, so I decided against it. I was quite glad as it would have flattened my hair so much and there wouldn't have been time to repair the damage as we had to detour to change hotels between the Registry Office and Reception venues.

What lovely pictures. Your daughter looked fabulous in a stunning dress and what luck to have the wisteria in flower. Thanks so much for sharing :)

Thank you. It was truly a lovely day and the couple looked wonderfully happy together the whole time.

Congrats to The Daughter! The cake looks very nice.
26th-Apr-2009 12:39 pm (UTC)
Thanks. The cake tasted even nicer, especially the white chocolate.

Congratulations. What an absolutely stunning couple! Looks like you had fab weather for the joyous event. Her dress is drop dead gorgeous.

Thanks. The dress was a separate bodice and skirt designed just for her. Five layers of embroidered silk material were shipped in from the States for the bodice, which had 24 bones in it. She's planning to get more use from it.

They do look wonderful together and are obviously very happy together.

Hooray for beautiful pics and a perfect day...it even looks like you lucked into sunshine!

Everything came together to make it a very special day. The weather was glorious, if a little windy as they left the Registry Office.

Gorgeous! I love the wisteria in the background too! :)
26th-Apr-2009 12:44 pm (UTC)
Thank you. The Wisteria flowered early just for their day.

I hadn't noticed the beautiful embroidery on her dress before. Absolutely gorgeous, I love the floral displays accenting the colour too. She organised it wonderfully, and it looks as though everyone had a great time.

Congratulations again!

The embroidered bodice reminded me of the outfit Tara wore in OMWF, but Kate's is much more elaborate. I hadn't noticed that the flowers matched until you pointed it out. She really did put effort into organising the details.

Beautiful - I love her corset and skirt - really pretty.

It looks as if everyone had a wonderful time - well except for a small person at the actual ceremony!

Thank you so much for sharing.
26th-Apr-2009 03:37 pm (UTC)
Thank you!

The small person at the ceremony was just obeying instructions to be quiet as she'd been playing with the other small person and the Bride was about to make her entrance. She was all smiley again seconds later.
