Quote for the Day - wif cake

knitting sketch
Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first. - Mark Twain

My teef are fixed - YaY.

Now I can enjoy some tea and the last slice of Mini Meringata

MMMMMMmmm

Think lemon curd-soaked sponge cake covered in a thick shell of white chocolate and decorated with 4 mini meringues that explode as you bite into them. - MMmmmmm. See what I mean? Our Italian neighbour brought us a Bauli Meringata back from her recent trip to Italy.

Coincidently, there was an Italian market in the town square last Friday. After lunch with ladies from the Knitting group, I met MWNN and we (mainly) resisted the temptation of

breads on the Bakery stall
Italian bread

Italian bakery

soft, Italian nougat
Italian nougat

olives and oils
olive oil

but not the cheese
Say Cheeeeeeese.
MWNN bought some pecorino, and the Gorgonzola walked off the stall and into his basket - it was so runny and ripe.

Hurrah for the simple things of life - that would be tea wif cake.

Same for me. Luckily there was a freshly-baked wholemeal loaf at home.

Resist the temptation would have been nearly impossible to me. I love Italian food!
