Life consists not in holding good cards but in playing those you hold well.
So I set off for the dentist's and arrived at the surgery with 5 minutes to spare for my appointment - tomorrow
. Nevertheless, I had a parcel to post so I strolled through the town in glorious sunshine. As I passed the Hospice Charity Shop, I spotted 10 white china plates that match the ones we have at home. I paid for them and, while the manageress packed them carefully, I spied a very nice high seat chair that is just perfect for sitting in to knit. It's very like this one
and has replaced the wooden steamer chair in my study.
No teef repair, but lots of lovely goodies made it a very worthwhile trip into town.
