It is extraordinary how extraordinary the ordinary person is. - George F. Will

Yesterday I received the most exquisite bracelet of pale blue swarovski crystals from irishnoodles.

This morning, I met a group of local fellow-knitters who had attended a workshop on Wednesday evening - part of the North Herts Book Festival. We have 'plans' to meet regularly, host the occassional workshop, and do some charity work.

ETA Anyone know some first aid for a very sore ear, probably caused by swimming without ear plugs and/or a reaction to the hearing aid earpiece. The doctor's surgery is closed until Monday and I don't think this counts as an emergency.

For the ear

A teaspoon full of warmed olive oil in the ear, a bit of cotton wool to hold it there awhile, a paracetemol and a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel and held against that side of the head

Thank you. Have substitued cider for the olive oil (by mouth, not ear), paracetamol is following with the tea and I'm feeling mellow enough not to need a hottie [though Jamses is welcome to hold himself against me anytime ;)].

Well I'm glad you didn't pour cider in your ear!

olive oil helps a lot.

Hope the ear is feeling better now - I had visions of you pouring the cider into it, though drinking it is a much better option.
