Unfortunately, I have little time for either meditation or doing nothing. We've embarked on the project of refurbishing my study-bedroom. The carpet is as old as the house(built in 1961).
Step 1: Clear the room; among other things this involves cataloging all books before storing them somewhere else. I started this morning and am still in the middle of doing that. I have three piles. I know I have to give some away to charity but I can't bear the choosing) Then there's the emptying of the filing cabinet and shredding old bank statements (they go back to 2001), clearing the wardrobe and storing clothes that don't hit the charity bag somewhere else, dismantling the PC storage unit and finding somewhere for PC and printer to live.
Step 2: Take curtains down and clean. Cover remaining furniture (bed, bookcase, stationery cupboard) and floor with protective dust sheets, scrub walls and ceiling, paint ceiling and walls.
Step 3: Order new flooring and schedule fitter to remove carpet, and lay new flooring.
Step 4: Order new built-in storage (sliding doors) to hold PC, clothes, files, and books and schedule fitting after new floor is done.
Step 5: Move everything back in.
Maybe I should do some more meditating?
