the 5th of November, gunpowder, treason, and
5,01423 Innocent Smoothies wearing winter hats for sale. Hi thee down to the local Sainsbury's Yee Land Lubbers and do your bit for Age Concern and enjoy a delicious smoothie at the same time.

In addition to the 20 hats I sent in to the campaign, I'm busily knitting lots of hats, in various colours and yarns, for human-sized heads.

And lovely hats they are, too!

The button makes all the difference.

I think the Big Knit is a really lovely way of raising money for Age Concern-run business.

The pattern called for a really BIG button. I was lucky enough to have 3, given free with a knitting magazine.

Happy Guy Fawkes Night ! Enjoy your bonfires. And that button really sets that hat off.

The bonus to a really lovely pattern was that I have 3 of those buttons, given free with a magazine.

It's really quiet here at the moment and we haven't had the usual build-up to tonight with weeks of early fireworks. I think the persistent rain may be keeping everyone indoors this year. We had only 2 Trick or Treaters call on Halloween.

My hat is coming with me at the weekend when we visit friends - fireworks in the garden are planned and I don't want to be cold.

Love the button!

Sensible woman. The button was one of a pack of three given free with a copy of a knitting magasine earlier this year. The pattern for the button hat is a really nice one and easy. It's on my Ravelry projects list where just about everyone seems to be knitting it.
