Knitting supplement in The Guardian

If you're out and about in the UK on Saturday 26 July, see if you can pick up a copy of The Guardian. Rumour has it that the long awaited knitting supplement featuring patterns by Simply Knitting's Rachael Matthews and Whovian knitter, Mazzmatazz (who had the BBC and the online knitting community in an uproar earlier this year when the Beeb objected to her free knitted Adipose pattern). If the supplement's a success they'll probably do another one eventually, so do pick up a copy – or three! – if you can.

There is another exciting development arising from the Adipose incident, but it's secret at the moment. What I can say is, we haven't seen the last of the Adipose knitting pattern.

In other news, MWNN has gone to France to do some boat maintenance (waging war against rust is ongoing) and I have taken the opportunity to make sure Ronnie sleeps in his bed in the kitchen, rather than in his crate on the landing. He's proving to be a real star. I'm walking him every day with the Terrier Gang on the local Common. He's off-lead most of the time and coming into the sit position every time he's recalled. I can't see the point of any more puppy classes where he's bored silly for an hour every Friday evening, when he's getting an hour's play and training every day with the gang. The only thing he won't do is heel work - he says we walk too slowly ;)

ETA Belated birthday greetings to a lovely lady caliente_uk for yesterday.

My friend (who started working for the Guardian a couple of months ago) proofed that supplement. He knows nothing about knitting, and the only things he could tell me were that there's an interview with the Dr Who lady with an accompanying photo where she looks quite, erm, booby, and a pattern for a banana warmer.

Hmm. I expected more, but will reserve full judgement until I've seen it.

The Doctor Who lady has told the Who Knits group on Ravelry that she thinks the interview is in tomorrow's Guardian - and there's more to the supplement than the banana cosy.
