granny can't be havin with this

Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did.

I rebooted the PC after doing some graphical work for gamiila. When I opened the Firefox browser, it had lost all my bookmarks. This is the third time this has happened with Firefox and Thunderbird has also emptied its address book. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Luckily most of them are also stored on the laptop so I can forward the ones I've lost to myself by email. But I don't have all my email contacts on the laptop.

I thought Firefox wasn't meant to be doing that sort of thing? I installed it as my default browser as soon as I got my PC, and although I seem to have drifted back to IE for no apparent reason, I'm surprised and not a little concerned to hear that Firefox isn't as well-behaved as I thought.

By the way, thanks for doing all that graphics work. I really like that last image -- but don't throw away that yellow background just yet! ;-)

Firefox has been doing all sorts of things it's not supposed to do. I noted a warning from a techie friend that once it became as popular as IE, it would become a target for the smart alecs who like to wreck things for the sake of ... wrecking things.

Thought you might like that last one - it's a pity so much of the pattern is hidden, and I haven't quite got the sizing right yet. No fear of deleting the other. I pay for unlimited storage space on photobucket.

Of course I like it - it has all, ALL I say, of my favourite colours in it; all of them! Though I'm not sure why it keeps changing every time I renew the page...now it seems to have shifted sideways. It'll have to stop doing that and go back to how it was before, or I'll...start to cry, I think.

Ah, all better! It didn't like me minimising the window. I'll have to remember that. ;-)

It wasn't you. I was fiddling with the size and orientation to see if I could get more of the swirling pattern to show. I'm sure the size isn't right yet. I'll have to look at the dimensions of my hesadevilspike background and resize it to those.

I haven't had any problems. I'm on a PC, running XP pro and Firefox -- which did an auto update yesterday. My problem is getting it to clean out my cache when I ask it to.

It hasn't happened on my laptop, just the PC which is a very old machine running XP as an upgrade of Windows '98. I'm taking the precaution of saving my bookmarks as I restore them.
