knitting sketch
This is a friends' only post, basically because I'm not sure that MWNN doesn't sneak-a-peek every now and then and it contains a link to the work-in-progress that is his present.

fearsclave, you said you were interested in the not cross-stitch techniques that I am using.
irishnoodles, you can see this because I have given you your own LJ and added you to my friends list.
willowfae, thought you might like to see the work I am doing that needs a shamrock icon.

first pic - just hit *next* to see the other one.

Off to walk the dogs with MWNN now so may update later when he's out.

Ta ever so. It's taking forever. And, can you see the problem I'm having with tension on the silk? - (More so on the main design than the icons.)

Yes. Do you use a hoop?

My AE uses a hoop, as you can see. But I rarely do, especially on large pieces. The present piece is on such fine silk, the hoop would mark it, even for the short time it was in place as I stitched each section. I haven't been able to get the tension to stay rigid on the fabric at all. (I am using a frame and the silk is stretched over a piece of aida to give it some support.) I am just hoping that the puckers won't show too much when it's hanging on the wall. the pic is very much a close-up shot.

Shaping up beautifully - you are so clever - brainy and creative - what a combination. MWNN will be over the moon to receive a gift made with so much love - bring photos over to PdeV so Lyle can see them = no doubt he will have some input. Love JL
