knitting sketch

(no subject)

Weather man had it totally wrong for today. Even the barometer in the house was wrong. Both forecast rain. Well, I stitched the whole afternoon in glorious Spring sunshine, having walked the dogs in same earlier in the day.

It is so satisfying watching something beautiful grow under the fingers as I stitch. Apart from the feeling of relaxation from the physical repetition of movements, there is a glow felt at creating something. Stitching a piece that will be treasured by a loved one is truly wonderful. Personally, I have never stitched anything that wasn't for someone else (although I have often felt a pang at giving it to them because I loved the design so much.)

*ponders* Taking pleasure in the work because it is being done for someone else. I wonder if it is a female thing to feel that way?
