knitting sketch
is the 10th anniversary of my father's death.

I wanted to mark it in a special way.

I wish I had been able to place a park bench, dedicated to his memory, somewhere that my Mum could use it.

Nowhere is safe from vandals and grafitti artists.

So I planted a tree instead.

That's such a wonderful idea, and a beautiful memorial to your father. *hugs*

Thank you. My father was a wonderful man. But then perhaps all daughters think that of their fathers?

That's a superb idea. Something living created in his name to remember him by.

Thank you, Sue. My neice had a baby boy (her fifth child) some years after Dad died. She called him Thomas, the only one of her children to be given a family name.

Not only beautiful and poetic, but also the symbolism is inspiring... Trees that give us the very oxygen we breath.

It's something wonderful.

As a former tree-planter myself, I think this is such a wonderful memorial. The circle of life.
