Am I the only one who is pissed off by the number of times The Doctor and his allies have stood gawping for far too long just as the danger of the week is launching its attack? It happenend in the first episode when the Doctor was held over the pit and locked eyes with Rose. Then again in episode two with the zombies. But tonight's episode, with its jouvenile fart jokes which irritated me from the first flutterblast, outstripped even the first two as not only the Doctor and the whole team of experts in all things alien, but Rose's Mum and Rose and her MP friends just stood and watched as the aliens struggled out of the stolen human skins to reveal themselves.

All momentum was lost and the viewers' suspended disbelief had time to reassert itself loudly. Mine yelled, "Those are not aliens, they're actors dressed up as aliens pretending to be humans."

The director needs a swift kick.

Maybe they were stunned and shocked into immobility? I think I possibly would be.

Even the MP woman who'd witnessed it all before from the cupboard?

And the farting went down very well with the boy. Mind you, he's only 8.

I thought immediately 'primary schoolboy humour'. It still irritated me though.
