Here was I, feeling all lonely and sorry for myself as a result of last night's nightmare, when a large package arrived. It was the pass-it-forward gift from hobbituk. I'm all overcome. She's made a truly stunning Victorian-type scrapbook calendar 2010, using images from my Flickr account and decorating each month with words and scraps of stuff relevant to the photo and my life at that time of year. Here's

Thank you so much, J, I have never before received a gift that shows so much thought, care, and time spent in its making.

Very nice too.
2nd-Dec-2009 04:54 pm (UTC)
And I have you to thank for introducing us.
2nd-Dec-2009 05:43 pm (UTC)
Do you?
2nd-Dec-2009 05:45 pm (UTC)
Yes.

Your memory has always been bad, so just accept this as fact.
2nd-Dec-2009 05:50 pm (UTC)
Okay, that sounds about right.
2nd-Dec-2009 06:04 pm (UTC)
I have all the calendar magnets for writercon2010 that I must arrrange to get to you sometime.

Ooh good! But there's hardly a rush!
2nd-Dec-2009 09:20 pm (UTC)
Agreed. But I will forget where they've been put 'for safety' and you'll forget I have them so the sooner they're in your goodie bags' stash the better.

Want a pre-Christmas meet-up?

I have no problem with that. Where and when? This weekend is tricky, but I'm free any other weekend and I finish work on the 18th.

Um - the diary's looking quite crowded now that I check it. What about after the New Year? Somewhere this side of Dunstabubble?
3rd-Dec-2009 08:47 am (UTC)
You tell me when you are free, and I will probably be able to match it. Your side of the bubble is fine with me.
2nd-Dec-2009 12:55 pm (UTC)
Oh that is *beautiful*.
2nd-Dec-2009 04:55 pm (UTC)
It is, and every month is so perfectly designed for me.
2nd-Dec-2009 01:09 pm (UTC)
What a lovely gift.
2nd-Dec-2009 04:56 pm (UTC)
I don't think I've ever had one that moved me so much, except for the ipod that The Daughter had engraved with my online name, from her and MWNN.
2nd-Dec-2009 01:17 pm (UTC)
That's just as lovely as I would imagine anything created by hobbituk would be. You're a lucky lady.
2nd-Dec-2009 04:57 pm (UTC)
You're a lucky lady.
I am indeed, and the timing of its arrival is just perfect.
2nd-Dec-2009 06:18 pm (UTC)
It's lovely. What a thoughtful gift.
2nd-Dec-2009 06:41 pm (UTC)
It's an incredible gift. I'm still bowled over by it and keep finding more lovely personal touches as I look at each month. It must have taken hours and hours just to collect all the items for each page.

ETA I love your winter icon.

He's a cutie pie, isn't he? An old one by eyesthatslay. I did upload one of yours too, though.

I prefer Foxy.

I'm glad you like that one of mine, it sums up trudging through the snow on the way home from work. The scene may be pretty but I can feel the effort.

How absolutely lovely - both the idea itself and the example.

The meme was a lovely idea, started back in January. I had completely forgotten I was one of Hobbit's 'first 5' commenters so this came as a very pleasant surprise.

I'm so pleased you like it... and how quickly did that get there! *Pat on the back for the Royal Mail*

I more than like it. It's possibly the nicest thing anyone has ever sent me. You're a very talented and thoughtful woman. Thank you again.
