When you blame others, you give up your power to change. - Douglas Noel Adams, 1952 - 2001

I've put my back out playing 'footie' with Ronnie in the house. Seems that over-stretching can do that to a person. Will have to rest and hope that it's not as painful tonight for the drive to the airport to collect MWNN

Be gentle with MWNN: if he's been in Dublin, he'll still be gibbering at how expensive stuff there is right now. I love the place, but ouch, £1 =~ 1€ is painful.

I'm always gentle with MWNN. ;)

We're very aware of how expensive things are in Dublin, we've been paying the Mai-in-Law's nursing home fees which were crippling even before the £'s slum against the Euro.

Things are really bad for people over there, especially the housing market. Many of the younger relatives have negative equity at the moment.

Oh my goodness.

Friends of ours are seriously considering moving to Germany, they just can't afford Co. Wicklow any more. Others have moved from Cork/Cobh to Longford just to keep housing costs down. And those are people earning in €: having income in £ and paying nursing home fees in € is something I do not envy.

Owie! I hope some applications of ice and heat will help it recover before you have to drive a car.

Thanks. Applications of a terrier-shaped 'hot water bottle' were enough to enable me to drive to the airport. MWNN drove the return journey.

Ouch! Take care of that back!

Had lots of rest yesterday. Today will see some gentle exercise. It's a little better but still pinches on rising from a sitting position.
