“The greatest glory never comes from winning, but from rising each time you fall. A person is defined by what he chooses to do with his life, not by what happens to him.” - Clay Aiken

Today was the Tai Chi trial lesson. Yes, the venue is gorgeous. Yes the class is small (8 max, there were 4 there today). Yes, the instructor is qualified and knows what she's doing. But no, the class isn't for me. The pace is slow (only the introductory move covered in a 1 hour lesson) and there's more emphasis on 'Chi' and the internal benefits of the moves and postures than I need or want. I'm swimming two or three times a week and am looking for a bit more 'oomph' from a Tai Chi Class.

You want to be waiving that sword about don't you! *g*

I'd love to do swimming but our local pool makes my eyes all red and blotchy from the chlorine! :(

Yis!
The health club pool does the same to my eyes so I bought myself a good pair of goggles. The difference is amazing. I can swim longer and faster with no eye damage at all. MWNNM tells me the chlorine is doing wonders for the skin on my face. I always take a long shower afterwards and use lavender shower gel and a good shampoo ro remove any deposits from my hair and moisturise my body.

Come to Mancunia and march around in the freezing cold. It focuses the mind terribly.

Oh, that's a shame about the class. Hopefully another more suitable one (with swords!) will turn up.
