cruising log
seurre
seurre,
originally uploaded by hesadevil.
I've selected some representative photos to give a flavour of this year's cruise, beginning with the picture postcard view of Seurre.

The saddest sight of all, for me, was seeing Albert all locked up and waiting for the return of her crew. The empty pots on the roof waiting in vain for the Memsahib who will never again tend the herbs and flowers a aboard her French home.

I'll let the other photos tell their own story in captions.

jennylyle you're seeing this because it's not friends locked. Many of the others are, including the one that told of the non-receipt of your gift to Kilo. (long story involved in that and we haven't tracked down exactly who 'took it into safe keeping'.

Nice pics. I hope the cow was okay.

There was a group of them down in the water. They do that a lot and are quite safe in the shallows; the river's very slow moving. They tend to stare at the boat because our engine is the same type many tractors use and the cows think it's the feed arriving.

Loved your photos of the interiors. I'm going to forward some to MWNN who has a love of Byzantium decoration.

He might like the museum of Islamic Art, although he'd have to like carpets.

Nice pictures. Love the curious cow and that's a gorgeous view of Seurre.

Seurre's a lovely town - shame about the Capitain - another jobsworth functionaire

Are you partaking of the James' fest?

Sadly no. Partly because I didn't think I'd be around, and partly because I'm always strange about seeing an actor I admire on screen live. Peculiar I know. I'm looking forward to reading all about it though.

You're not alone (does that make me peculiar?) - the only part of missing the performance that makes me glad is that I was terrified that he'd not live up to expectations, he's been away from live theatre for so long.

Well, if you are at least we're both peculiar *g*.

I was terrified that he'd not live up to expectations, he's been away from live theatre for so long.

My reasoning exactly.

Welcome back !
I enjoyed reading your thoughts and impressions all along the cruise. Thanks for the lovely pictures as well. :)

I wish I were still in France.

Hope you had a good trip to London.

Beautiful pictures. Why is it that even the alleys look picturesque, when alleys here tend to look like garbage dumps.

Partially, because they're clean, I know but still.

I hope you are getting settled in and have a little time to breathe now.
