Wonder why that is?

MWNN is in Dublin with the family Eugene O'Neill obviously took as his model. Meanwhile, back at Chez hesadevil:

. I gave my room a makeover:
* Created more space by rejigging most of the furniture.
* Bought new curtains and duvet cover for the bed.
* Reorganised the books and DVDs.
* Took down and washed old curtains.

. Baked a Bara Brith that will be ready in another hour - just in time for tea.

. Made some veggie soup with leeks, parsnips, onion, sweet potato.

. Cleaned the yard.

. Cleaned the living and dining room.

Not bad going for 1.5 days, huh?

Now I just need to update my fList and note certain birthdays.

everydayisfun, your card arrived late this morning and very pretty it is, too. I'm so glad you're enjoying the book. Uncle MWNN chose it especially for you.

jennylyle - now that I know your PC has a DVD player, I can make a goodies' box up with special stuff just full of Spikey goodness. In answer to an earlier question, your cheque for Narelle has arrived safely.

I glad you like it. I have messy fun making handprints. Mummy say I am artistic but I just like to play.

I think you are teaching Mummy just as much as she is teaching you.

More stuff always gets done when there's no one else to change things behind our backs... ;)
26th-Jan-2005 02:55 pm (UTC)
It's not just that - said other person requires a whole lot of paying attention to when he's around. Plus he tends to get under the feet and question why it is necessary to do certain things - and the answer usually is because . . . .

Douvet? Potatoe? You'd never think you were an English teacher at any point.

::Blows raspberry::

So, what do you think? Should we go broadband? That won't help with getting online while roaming, will it? Who do you use as your ISP when you're using your laptop and mobile?
26th-Jan-2005 03:05 pm (UTC)
It doesn't help with the temptation to keep popping online either.
26th-Jan-2005 04:17 pm (UTC)
Don't need broadband for that. Just haveing the computer on is sufficient temptation.

OT The opening lines of the sequel woke me up last night. Do you think it would go away if I ignore it?

::fans fire::

You know you want to.

Btw. I've forgotten everything we dicussed about my chapter on Sunday.
26th-Jan-2005 04:42 pm (UTC)
You know you want to.

No, it's Wes that wants me to . . . and the main idea that popped in, along with what Wes found when he went back to his office at Hamilton's prompting?

Spike has forgotten all about Buffy. No memory of her at all. Isn't that neat?

Now do you still want to fan the flames? Bwahhaaaaaa!

I've forgotten everything we dicussed about my chapter on Sunday.

I could probably recall most of it, if you think it was of help.
Now - I'm off for a slice</i> many slices of that Bara Brith.

Oh yes. That Spuffy rekindling didn't last long did it?

I could probably recall most of it, if you think it was of help.

Yes, please. I had a plan and then it's all been forgotten! I have a brain like a sieve and I've had work to do! And other stuff to think of!

Now - I'm off for a slice many slices of that Bara Brith.

I have no idea what that is.

I'll get on to it.

Bara Brith? See below my conversation with Chen. You've probably had some in your time, what with the Welsh ancestry and all.

It's cool enough to cut now so I'm off for an extended High Tea.

I dunno. I Granddad wasn't big on cooking. Having said that, it does look kind of familiar.

Broadband would cost you more in the long run than dial-up. And would be absolutely no use when you're abroad.

I don't take a laptop away with me, but if I did I can use Telewest's dial-up numbers with my broadband username and password.
26th-Jan-2005 03:29 pm (UTC)
The phone engineer told me that the reason I couldn't get online when up North was because I was dialing in using a BT line, and my dialup can only be connected through an NTL line.

We'd save money by ditching the extra phone line and being able to be on line at the same time would be a considerable bonus.

When we're in France, we're going to use www.neataway.com to colect our mail.
26th-Jan-2005 03:33 pm (UTC)
*shrug* different policies. Telwest/Blueyonder are rather better at all of this stuff than NTL, by all accounts. Tough that you're in an NTL area. You could always ditch NTL completely. Use the Sky box for telly and get (someone like Demon's which allows you to dial up remotely when away from home) ADSL on your BT phone line.
26th-Jan-2005 04:11 pm (UTC)
You wouldn't like to tell MWNN all that, would you? Seein' as you're the techie, he'd be more inclined to take your advice; the same advice I've been giving for over a year now.

Do you know that he's decided against taking the Sky Box to the boat? And we're still paying for the standard package. So that's two lots of digital TV providers and three phone lines. (And he complains that I'm extravagent with books and DVDs - sheesh!)
26th-Jan-2005 03:26 pm (UTC)
I'm so impressed! Just one question Bara Brith ?
26th-Jan-2005 04:07 pm (UTC)
Bara Brith is a traditional Welsh fruit bread. Mine has just come out of the bread machine. I used olive oil instead of lard (yuk!) and much more raisins and currants, along with cinnnamon. The smell is driving me insane but it's far too hot to cut into yet.

I'll give it another half hour to cool down and then make some Assam tea and settle down in front of the telly for some teatime sci-fi watching.

Wow - my own Spike dvd - I'm excited!!!

Please, please, please tell me this cleaning thing is contagious?
I'm so very impressed! :)

No, it's not - sorry. I think it has more to do with Spring being just around the corner and having far too much time on my hands when I'm alone.
